About the Brookfield Group Blog

Blog of Jake Hayman – About Me/the Blog:

I’m trying to make money and save the world and not making very much progress at either.

I’m the co-founder of The Social Investment Consultancy (www.tsiconsultancy.com), which advises philanthropists and corporates on creating social change out of our offices in London, Dubai and New York. I also founded Future First (www.futurefirst.org.uk) which builds alumni networks in state schools and is operating in over 10% of all state secondaries/colleges in England. In the process of adding Future First International, which is taking the model round the world on the back of pilots we’ve run in Kenya and the US and an amazing bit of research that I got to do into alumni communities in Latin America, West Africa, Europe, the Middle East and Central Asia.

On the more commercial front, I co-founded Frame Again (www.frameagain.com), which prints, frames and delivers from your phone/camera into customisable, cool, photo frames that are magnetised to sit side by side.

I also sit on the boards of the LankellyChase Foundation & the Early Intervention Foundation & EdAngels.

I split my week between those organisations, which basically means I do all my jobs badly.

All blogs are from me or maybe re-published from one of the organisations I’m involved with. Any stats cited may well be inaccurate and any thoughts published may well be in need of re-thinking.

Just in case anyone is interested, I run a monthly ‘Careers in the Sector’ evening for people looking to build their careers or transition their careers into anything to do with social change. Email claire@tsiconsultancy.com if you’d like to come along and if you aren’t in London but would like us to do one online, then just let me know (jake@tsiconsultancy.com).

I’m always open to come speak about what I’m doing to young people, entrepreneurs, social entrepreneurs. I love doing it. The thing I’m proudest of on that front is TEDx talk I did on Future First which is at http://tedxtalks.ted.com/video/How-every-school-is-a-community;search%3Atag%3A%22tedxasl%22.

Anyone who went to UK state school should sign up at www.futurefirst.org.uk to volunteer at their old schools & if anyone wants to set up a TSIC office anywhere on a franchise model, let me know at jake@tsiconsultancy.com.

Obviously if you want to buy a photo frame (printed, framed and delivered – never have to queue again), that would be great to. And if you look at them at don’t buy one, if you wouldn’t mind telling me why, that would be really useful.

The closest thing I have to an interest is that I used to be a poker player, otherwise basically just work, friends and family. This is my first blog.

I’m trying to create one brand which I do all my work under, so have called it the Brookfield Group, after my primary school. It doesn’t exist/mean anything but hopefully one day will.

I’m @jakehayman on Twitter and the others are @futurefirstorg @tsiclondon @frameagain if you are interested, all the websites have mailing lists if you wanted to get them also.
